About the Role
“Customer Service is not a department…it’s an attitude.” Rental Village has established a reputation for great customer service, clean and reliable tools and equipment, and special event items. Our Inside Shop role is largely responsible for maintaining that reputation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain equipment for Ready-To-Rent status.
- Demonstrate proper equipment usage to customers.
- Assist with loading/unloading of equipment.
- Assist with moving equipment in/out at the beginning and end of each day.
- Perform maintenance checks on equipment as per computer generated service reports.
- Perform minor repairs as per work orders provided by Service Department Manager.
- Consult with Store Manager and Service Department Manager to have work orders developed if equipment does not meet our Ready-To-Rent status.
- Document all parts/supplies on work orders that have been removed from parts department to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Support delivery drivers by servicing larger inventory quickly and efficiently, returning it to Ready-To-Rent status.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment including back shop and yard at all times.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Additional Expectations
- Assist other team members and technicians as required.
- Attend team meetings (approximately 2 hours after business closing) as required.

Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment is an asset.
- Some mechanical ability or aptitude is an asset.
- Tool knowledge and computer competency is an asset.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions in written, oral or scheduled form in English.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
- Must be able to lift/carry 75 lbs / 35 kg minimum.
Working Conditions
- Most work will be outdoors with some indoor work in our shop.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Position requires being on your feet all day — a certain degree of stamina is required.
- This job requires interaction with co-workers and customers, so a positive attitude is important.
- Must be able to work with the pressures of time constraints.
